Huron Digital Pathology, based in St. Jacobs, is making the transition from producing systems in small quantities for individual customers to becoming a full-scale manufacturer capable of producing at much higher volumes for a growing market.

The company designs and produces vision applications in digital pathology, applying artificial intelligence, for hospitals, pathology laboratories, university research centres and companies serving the biopharmaceutical industry. These systems help improve patient diagnosis, advance cancer research, and optimize patient treatments.

Over the past 10 years it has attracted top engineering and technical talent, invested in leading-edge research and development, and designed and built custom systems for technically demanding customers in Canada, the United States and Germany, establishing its reputation for high-quality systems that clearly satisfy its customers’ needs.

It has now a core set of products that are protected by a rich portfolio of patents, and is preparing to take the next step, which is to establish an advanced manufacturing production line to assemble its products in volume.

Huron Digital Pathology has the funding to take the next steps. It has a talent base of eager young engineers and technicians eager to seize the opportunity and move into full-scale manufacturing. But these young engineers and technicians need help if they are to succeed.

What they need is an experienced manufacturing executive who can guide them through the next steps in building this capacity for advanced manufacturing, combining their talent and energy with an experienced source of advice and help.

This is why Huron Digital Pathology is seeking such an individual. This is not a full-time position, and the company is ready to negotiate arrangements that also work well for what would be a mutually beneficial partnership.

We believe this would be an exciting challenge for a retired manufacturing executive who would enjoy the opportunity to help build another Ontario manufacturing success and would also enjoy the stimulus of working with and helping a new generation of Ontario talent.
