Plan and execute experiments to characterize existing mouse lines and screen new mouse lines (genotyping, flow cytometry, Western blotting, ELISA, NGS)
Design transgenic mice, with a particular focus on cross-species antibody production
Provide technical and scientific expertise in discussions and presentations, and for the elaboration of plans as required by the company
Clearly communicate results in written reports and oral presentations
Take a leading role in manuscript preparation and support the creation of SOPs, as required
Interface with and support other scientists as required, actively fostering an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships within and across teams
Participate in team meetings to assist in the coordination of project and departmental activities

Essential qualifications

Ph.D. in immunology, genetics, cell biology or molecular biology
Scientific knowledge of B cell development and antibody production
Experience with the design and execution of molecular biology techniques such as PCR and RT-PCR (including primer design), cloning (restriction enzyme/TOPO/Gibson/Golden Gate Assembly), RNA and DNA extraction, Sanger sequencing analysis
Experience in protein and cell-based assays including ELISA, Western blotting, and flow cytometry
Independent technical troubleshooting skills
Strong time management skills, including the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-faced environment while planning and meeting timelines
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document all work clearly and completely; proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Assets

Experience in antibody discovery such as hybridoma generation, antibody library construction/optimization, phage/yeast display, single-cell screening is a plus
Experience with NGS data analysis with open-source software (e.g. R) is a plus
Experience handling mice is a plus, but not required for this position
