Red Rock Regeneration Inc is a biotechnology company developing effective, easy to use, affordable tissue and recombinant growth factor derived products for bone regeneration. We launched our first series of tissue-based products in late 2021.

Job Description

Red Rock is seeking to hire a research technician to work in our laboratory full time.

The research technician will conduct various experiments where they will process bovine and human tissue and perform various biochemical (ELISAs, enzyme and protein) and cell-based assays.

They will report to the Director of Product Development and will work closely with the other members of the product development team.

Location: Downtown Toronto.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 per year

Start: immediately

Duties & Responsibilities

The research technician will be responsible for:

  1. processing bone tissue matrices
  2. performing protein assays, enzymatic assays and ELISAs
  3. performing cell culture assays
  4. collecting data, performing simple analyses and drafting study reports
  5. operating and maintaining various pieces of lab equipment
  6. maintaining inventories of materials and samples

Critical competencies required

Knowledge:

Knowledge of biochemical methods and assays (required)

Knowledge of cell culture (preferred)

Knowledge of data analysis and basic statistics (preferred)

Knowledge of protein analytical methods (preferred)

Skills:

Good oral and written communication skills (required).

Experience performing protein assays (Bradford, BCA etc.) (required)

Experience performing Cell Culture (mammalian cells) (preferred)

Experience working in a research Laboratory (summer student or graduate student).

Qualifications

BSc in biochemistry, biology or related discipline
