Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Academic Integrity, the incumbent will be part of a team which provides excellent educational service to students, instructors and staff around academic integrity, and charged with helping process cases of alleged academic misconduct forwarded to the office.
In this capacity, the Academic Integrity Specialist helps develop and present educational messaging to students and other Faculty communities; collaborates to create improved online resources; partners with departments and instructors to help promote academic integrity and defer offences. The Academic Integrity Specialist also supports the processing of individual cases of student academic misconduct, preparing case files with key information regarding the misconduct and the student’s circumstances, in some cases investigating the extent and type of misconduct so as to advise the team of Dean’s Designates on possible responses. In this capacity, the Academic Integrity Specialist becomes a resource regarding the application of the University’s Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters,to ensure due and consistent process, as well as an awareness of the full range of possible responses to misconduct. The Academic Integrity Specialist helps develop and track educational plans that are set for individual cases, in partnership with student academic success staff from the Colleges, the Faculty, and/or the University.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collating briefing package materials for meetings
- Preparing and disseminating committee decisions to students
- Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
- Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Providing proactive support to individuals in distress and making referrals to specific university services
EssentialQualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of recent and related experience in student service with an emphasis in academic support and/or teaching. Experience in educating students on academic integrity and best academic practices to avoid academic misconduct.
- Experience working collaboratively with instructors/faculty, and senior/peer administrators to achieve excellence in service, especially student service and academic support.
- Experience working with students who are anxious or upset and providing help to students in distress.
- Experience in the application of university codes, ideally codes of academic conduct. Demonstrated experience developing and conducting presentations to a diverse audience regarding educational/academic issues.
- Experience with developing online educational resources and/or online media in support of education a considerable asset.
- Demonstrated skill in providing timely, educative information to students and other education professionals including university staff, instructors, and academic leaders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to speak with tact and demonstrate empathy
- Demonstrated skills in developing readable, written instructional/informational resources in print and on the web for a diverse audience.
- Excellent skills in developing and giving presentations to small or large audiences.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Demonstrated skills in data management and reporting
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff and faculty members.
- Experience and comfort in working with students under emotional stress.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
