16 Bit’s vision is to create and validate paradigm shifting AI tools to drastically improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for all human beings. Founded by physicians with computer science and engineering backgrounds, 16 Bit is now focused on launching and scaling its two Health Canada approved products, PhysisTM and RhoTM. PhysisTM is a SaaS offering which aids physicians in measuring skeletal maturity for the purposes of managing children with various diseases. PhysisTM is based on 16 Bit’s first place submission to the inaugural RSNA 2017 machine learning challenge. RhoTM is an enterprise software which is poised to revolutionize the screening of patients with osteoporosis. RhoTM was designated an FDA breakthrough device in 2021. RhoTM has been in the making for over 3 years and we are tremendously excited to imminently deliver it to patients and improve patient health outcomes. This is what you'll do.

• Deploy RhoTM at hospital and clinic customer sites
• Perform routine monthly maintenance on customer installations
• Implement new product features and bug fixes
• Perform maintenance on PhysisTM
• Interface with the quality management system to create and contribute well-written documentation required for medical device regulation
• Update front-end user interfaces using ReactJS
• Maintain and extend RESTful APIs (Python, FastAPI)
• Modify and deploy containerized microservices for backend (Python)
• Monitoring systems with metrics and alerting
• Set up and maintain cloud and local databases (PostgreSQL)
• Develop optical character recognition algorithms to automate data extraction
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues

This is what you need.

• Undergraduate experience in computer science, engineering or related field
• 3+ years professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience in front-end technologies like ReactJS
• Fluent in Python
• Familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL
• Strong command of the Linux terminal
• Knowledge of code versioning tools like git
• Able to work well independently and in a small and distributed team
• Superior time management abilities
• Systematic approach to problem solving

• Experience working at an early stage startup.
