Position Overview:

The Processing Technician will be responsible for leading the production pipeline ensuring all SOP’s and guidelines are followed. Reporting to the Lab Technician, this role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem solving abilities and extraordinary attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hair Follicle Biobanking & Manufacturing of Autologous Hair Follicle Secretome Product
    • Collect, analyze, and cryopreserve human biological samples within ISO-7 and ISO-5 cleanrooms, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines
    • Facilitate the transfer of biological samples into and out of liquid nitrogen tanks
    • Lead the production pipeline, coordinating all aspects of the secretome product manufacturing process from cell culture to media collection
    • Maintain accurate documentation to record and track all stages of the biobanking and manufacturing workflow
    • Assist in enhancing quality control procedures by contributing to the development of SOPs and maintaining comprehensive documentation and records
  • Commercial Laboratory Operations
    • Perform general duties as required including but not limited to:
      • Organizing inbound shipping of samples
      • Inventory tracking
      • Dispensing kits
      • Disposing of biohazardous waste
      • General laboratory cleaning and maintenance, and recycling of reusable instruments.
    • Perform maintenance, calibration and validation of equipment as needed
    • Assist in the logistical aspects of commercial laboratory operations, including biobanking and product manufacturing
    • Provide knowledgeable insight into laboratory practices and recommend areas to improve processes
    • Champion safety protocols and awareness within the laboratory environment

Key Qualifications:

  • Biotechnology Diploma, a Bachelor’s Degree or post-secondary education in a life science (e.g., Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology) or similar
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a lab environment
  • Previous experience working within ISO-7 and ISO-5 cleanrooms
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment usage
  • Strong understanding of biological procedures and data analysis methods
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both communications and written
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to record and document data accurately
  • Ability to demonstrate time management and multitasking skills
  • Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
