Who we are

We are a startup in Toronto, Ontario with a diverse team united by our passion to make the world a more accessible place. Our first product is an add-on that transforms regular commercial wheelchairs into ‘smart’ wheelchairs that can automatically detect obstacles and offer feedback to the driver. This can help increase safe and independent mobility for people with accessibility needs. We’ve launched our commercial product, and are currently partnered with the largest complex rehab technology distributors in the US and Canada! We are funded and/or backed by AARP Innovation Labs, Google for Startups, Techstars, Founder Institute, AGE-WELL NCE, CABHI, Ontario Brain Institute, NRC-IRAP, NSERC, OCE, OBIO, and more.

Description of the position (responsibilities, goals)

1. Managing online educational activities (coordinating presentations, post-presentation follow-up emails).
2. Creating and posting content for monthly newsletter via Hubspot, social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) and website via Wordpress (press release, blog articles).
3. Engaging stakeholders in community groups on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Required qualifications and experience for the candidate

• Demonstrated digital marketing experience.
• One or both of the following backgrounds will be preferred:
  • Rehabilitation sciences or occupational therapy (experience working in seating & mobility).
  • Lived experience with disability and/or an understanding of barriers to wheelchair access.
• Be fluent in English (written and oral).
