As the Senior Director, Global Real World Evidence you will develop and execute a comprehensive RWE strategy to support evidence generation and decision-making across the organization. This position involves leading a multidisciplinary team of RWE experts to design and implement studies analyzing real-world data to generate insights into diseases, treatment patterns and outcomes including the safety and effectiveness of Ferring products in real-world settings. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare data sources, advance analytics methodologies, and regulatory and payer evidentiary standards and requirements, coupled with strong leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence decision-making at all levels.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a global RWE strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory and payer requirements.

  • Provide strategic guidance and insights to senior leadership based on RWE findings, contributing to product development, regulatory submissions, and commercialization strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Value & Access, and Commercial to ensure RWE studies are align with regulatory requirements and TA strategic objectives and are integrated into evidence generation plans and decisions-making processes

Design and oversee the implementation of RWE studies to gather data and generate actionable insights across a broad spectrum of research questions, including but not limited to, disease understanding, treatment patterns and clinical outcomes, and the treatment effectiveness and safety of Ferring products.

  • Utilize appropriate study designs including Ferring-sponsored observational trials, disease/products registries, and retrospective database analyses.

  • Identify, assess, and select real-world data sources considering balancing issues such as data relevance and data quality against contest of use (i.e., regulatory-grade evidence for external partners vs. rapid insights generation for internal decision making.

  • Ensure compliance with recognized and accepted good research practice standards that governing the use of real-world data in evidence generation activities.

Communicate RWE findings to external audiences via publications in relevant peer-reviewed medical and scientific publications.

  • Establish partnerships with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, healthcare providers, payers, and regulatory agencies, to access and leverage real-world data assets.

  • Represent the company in external forums, conferences, and publications to enhance the company’s reputations as a leader in real-world evidence

Lead and develop a team of RWE scientists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and data analysts to design and implement real-world studies, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the RWE organization, attracting and retaining top talent in the field.

  • Stay abreast of advancements in real-world evidence methodologies, technologies, best practices, adapting RWE strategy and operations where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health outcomes research, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in real-world evidence generation within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with a record of accomplishment of leadership and innovations.

  • Deep understanding of real-world data sources, study design methodologies, statistical analysis techniques, and good research practices governing RE generation.

  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams, influence stakeholders and drive organizational chance.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $214,000 to $287,000, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 12 to 13 paid holidays per year.
