Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; FPI-2059, a small molecule targeting neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1), currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs.
The Role: This role reports to the Director, Materials Management. As a Manager, Procurement at Fusion, you are the Subject matter expert for all procurement related activities. Lead the vendor selection and qualification process. Manage supplier relationships and define KPIs while working collaboratively across multiple functions on process improvement. Responsibilities
• Be the primary point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all procurement activities within the manufacturing group.
• Drive optimal procurement processes within the organization, ensuring a centralized approach to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead the vendor selection, qualification, and registration process for new vendors, ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
• Collaborate with Legal on contract negotiation, creation, and compliance, as well as with Quality Assurance (QA) on regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain a preferred vendor list, ensuring all vendors meet quality and performance benchmarks.
• Lead supplier relationship management by defining KPIs and drumbeats while looking for synergies and opportunities to optimize operations.
• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing standards, sustainability initiatives, and company policies.
• Oversee and report on spending pools, cost control, budgeting, and trends to drive data-informed decision-making.
• Manage inventory procurement strategies to align with production and operational requirements.
• Lead ethical and sustainable sourcing programs for the division to promote social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
• Work collaboratively with other functions who are stakeholders to the procurement team and champion productivity.
• Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify potential risks, opportunities, and innovations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) or supply chain/procurement certification is an added advantage.
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in nuclear medicine, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
• Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., FDA & Health Canada) and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Experience in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
• Proficiency in using enterprise software, such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with a digital mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proactive problem-solving ability, with an inquisitive and innovative nature.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to dynamic business needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional collaboration effectively.
