Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; FPI-2059, a small molecule targeting neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1), currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs.
The Role: Key member of the finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance and partnering directly with all members of the finance team, as well as cross-functional to drive best-in-class financial operations to Fusion and its subsidiaries. The role is a “hands-on” position with direct responsibility over on-going financial operations including but not limited to daily accounting, procurement, accounts payable leadership, month and quarter-end closes, as well as a key contributor in process enhancements and integrations with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. This is a full-time onsite role based at Fusion’s Hamilton, Ontario location.
Responsibilities:
• Full cycle accounts payable (procure-to-pay function).
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly closing entries and account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and R&D teams to properly record prepaids and accruals.
• Responsible for Fixed Assets, including capitalization and depreciation as well as tracking and recording projects costs.
• Maintain compliance with and documentation of certain internal controls
• Assist with external audit and tax requests.
• Provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting with current CPA, or equivalent, license desired.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience, including but not limited to: public accounting and biotechnology/pharmaceuticals industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and public company reporting process.
• High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information and materials.
• A proven team-player with a great attitude and ability to work well within a small group.
• Financial systems experience, NetSuite is a plus.
• Organized, adaptable, with good sense of time-management and outstanding verbal and written communicator.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review workpapers and other business documents.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills are required.
• Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solutions oriented.
