Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer (Group Leader) to join its growing team. This role is going to be a key position within our Mechanical Engineering group. This is a leadership role, where you will be overseeing a small team.

Working within our Design & Engineering teams, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together.

This role sits within our global business area Places. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of people’s lives. Whether new homes, shops, workplaces, schools and hospitals, manufacturing, research and development facilities, or data and distribution centers. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.

Role accountabilities:

  • Responsible for client contact
  • Direction to junior staff
  • Design HVAC layouts as your own work
  • coordinate with other disciplines
  • develop and watch the budget
  • make presentations to potential new clients

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7-15+ years of relevant HVAC and plumbing engineering experience
  • Registration as a Mechanical Engineer with any state in the US, or ability to obtain registration in a quick turnaround time.
  • Ability to work independently and produce the expected results, with general instructions/guidance from Project Manager
  • Commitment to meeting project deadlines, often times under stringent time constraints
  • Time management skills for working on several projects at once, prioritizing urgent tasks in line with project schedule requirements
  • Willingness to learn new energy efficient system design
  • Willingness to get involved with engineering and plumbing societies
  • Piping design skills
  • Controls design skills
  • Revit skills are a plus
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
