Job Description

Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.

Arcadis has an immediate opening for a well-organized Architectural Coordinator for our Calgary office. You will have the opportunity to help develop architectural guidelines for new residential communities. You will be involved throughout the various stages of the home build from the initial design stage to the final completion. Our team handles the approval process to ensure all homes have a unique character while following the common theme of a development. To be successful you will have a positive professional attitude, work well under pressure, and possess strong verbal and written skills. Your ability to multi-task with attention to detail in a fast paced work environment is paramount.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Work with Land Developer clients to establish architectural guidelines for multiple communities within Calgary and surrounding areas
  • Coordinate exterior colours and building materials
  • Make enhancements to the exterior elevations of homes to meet the requirements of the architectural guidelines
  • Work with home builders to ensure home plans are in compliance with architectural guidelines
  • Ensure close client relationship is maintained with clients and their staff through regular meetings; stay informed of changing business needs and directions
  • Management and maintenance of project files
  • Reviewing lot grading on builder site plan submissions

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate from a recognized Architectural Graduate Program or Architectural Technologists Program
  • AutoCAD experience would be an asset
  • Electronic File Management program knowledge
  • Microsoft Word and Excel background would be an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Any experience with home design and home plans would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Strong external client communication skills. Experience working with contractors and other consultants, and coordination of major projects
  • Able to follow instructions and also to work independently
  • Experience working in an engineering consultant or related environment would be ideal
