Arcadis Building Engineering Group is looking for a licensed Mechanical Engineer (Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) to join our growing Montreal team
Are you looking to be a part of a team that specialises in the design, tendering and contract administration of mechanical systems such as HVAC, process exhaust, hydronics, plumbing, fire protection, etc? You will have the opportunity to work on projects in the Montreal area, as well as collaborating with other Arcadis offices all throughout North America.The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in HVAC, plumbing & drainage, and/or fire protection systems, as well as hands-on experience with process engineering systems such as compressed air and fueling systems. Detailed knowledge of the Quebec Building Code, National Building Code, as well as ASHRAE and NFPA standards, is essential. Are you looking for a place to grow your professional career?

Role accountabilities:
- Contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems for building projects while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Collaborating with senior engineers to support the implementation of process engineering systems
- Participating in site assessments and reviews to verify the performance and functionality of mechanical systems
- Providing technical support to project teams, contractors, and clients, and actively participating in project planning and coordination efforts
- Assisting in the preparation of engineering calculations, reports and staying updated with advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and best practices
- Coordinate with architectural team and other engineering disciplines, and actively participate in project planning and budgeting
- Design and engineer building-related systems, including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, controls and building automation systems
- Support the design of industrial systems such as compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems, as well as service connections for machine installations
- Analyze heating and cooling loads using computerized methods
- Develop and write engineering study reports
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards during design development, and coordinate with the energy analysis team for compliance with energy standards
- Take responsibility for the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, and review and approve technical documentation
- Conduct quality assurance checks, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement within the engineering team
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial and transit facilities, with a strong background in automotive facilities being an asset
- Hold a professional engineering license (P.Eng.) and have a comprehensive understanding of AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, Revit, 3D software, and related tools
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills for effective internal and client interactions
- Exhibit the ability to work on multiple project assignments
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
- Show proven experience in collaborating with clients, contractors, and other consultants
- Possess an excellent understanding of the Quebec Building Code, Quebec Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, ASHRAE standards
- Familiar with TSSA Fuel & Pressure vessel codes, and industrial ventilation standards, among other relevant industrial standards is an addon asset
