Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Principal (or Senior Architect) with a proven track record in leading complex projects from start to finish. This role offers the chance to shape the design of large-scale transit-oriented developments, with opportunities for local, national, and international work. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, serving as the client liaison, and solving complex challenges with creative, elegant solutions. Most of the Things You’ll Work On:
- Lead and manage large, complex projects and project teams
- Shape the design principles that drive projects from conception through execution
- Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues as part of the senior design and leadership team to foster a culture of design excellence within Arcadis’ Transit Architecture Studio
- Assist with Transit related Business Development (BD)
- Develop one-year, two-year, three-year business plans collaboratively with the Transit practice leads
- Establish a transit-focused design practice in South Florida that can support other regions from the outset
- Mentor and develop emerging transit professionals
- Work from the Boca Raton office 3-4 days per week preferred
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- University Degree in Architecture required
- 15+ years of relevant experience in an architectural studio
- At least 5 years of experience in leading complex transit projects and managing large, multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with Transit or P3 public-facing projects preferred
- Proven track record managing executive-level business relationships
- Licensed Florida Architect; NCARB preferred
- Proficient in all phases of project development, from conceptualization to detailed execution
- Strong knowledge of zoning, building codes, and Florida-specific regulations
- Expertise in specifications, value engineering, and construction administration
- Highly organized, capable of managing team priorities, time, and deadlines across multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Analytical problem solver with a desire to mentor and inspire others
- Desire to grow, mentor, and inspire a team
- Experience in transit station design, transit-oriented developments, and working with local agencies is a plus
- Skilled at leading large, multidisciplinary teams, including remote members

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, projects, and location.
