Job Details
The Senior Income Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing federal, state, and foreign income tax returns for the Cencora and its affiliates. This role involves assisting with special projects, tax inquiries, income tax audits, and tax accounting (ASC 740).
Responsibilities
Prepares federal, state, and foreign income tax returns, including Forms 1120, 5471, 8858, and 8865 for review.
Prepares Form 8975 (Country-by-Country Report), if applicable.
Prepares state tax returns using separate entity, consolidated, and combined filing methods.
Prepares relevant book to tax and apportionment work papers.
Assists with the calculation of book/tax differences for quarterly tax provision and estimate process.
Prepares ASC 740 supporting tax work papers such as deferred tax roll forwards, provision to return true up, footnote disclosures, etc.
Responsible for the collection of data to be used in the income tax return preparation process.
Enters data into income tax return software application.
Creates and maintains income tax work papers utilizing software applications.
Assists with the maintenance of the company’s master due date listing.
Gathers information for audits, income tax provisions, and special projects.
Works closely with Tax Manager to gather all necessary information to prepare and generate accurate tax returns.
Works closely with Tax Manager to validate technical interpretations.
Works with internal and external accounting associates and various taxing jurisdictions for the purpose of assisting in the tax preparation process.
Reconciles tax and financial data to the general ledger.
Works with the Tax Manager to complete income tax audits when applicable.
Researches and updates new guidelines pertaining to income tax laws.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience
This position requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible income tax experience in a Big Four/national CPA firm. A Masters degree and/or CPA is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge
Sound understanding of US federal and state corporate income tax principles.
Experience working with OneSource Income Tax federal, state, and international software.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Alteryx and SAP experience is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills; good relationship-building skills.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
