What you will be doing

Overview

The Senior Director of DEI Activation is responsible for leading DEI global implementation strategy through learning, development, community and employee engagement. This role serves as a DEI subject matter expert and liaison to the enterprise and focuses on the critical dimensions of people and community. This leader will create, facilitate, and operationalize DEI strategies that advance DEI goals with key internal AB stakeholders, global team members, and community partners. The Sr. Director of DEI Activation will work with key stakeholders to develop a global engagement strategy and embed critical DEI initiatives into business practices, while enhancing commercial processes and our DEI brand.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements long and mid-term strategic and tactical plans to drive progress on AmerisourceBergen’s DEI commitments in context of the company's Purpose and broad DEI goals, aligned with our Environmental, Social and Governance impact

  • Lead a DEI activation strategy that amplifies our DEI commitments and delivers outcomes aligned with our purpose to create healthier futures

  • Leads quarterly cascade of DEI activation strategy with stakeholders and serves as a subject matter expert in DEI activation to the enterprise

  • Ensure connectivity of DEI initiatives, programs, and offering to drive DEI impact progress through planning

  • Partner cross functionally with Talent Management, Business Partners, Corporate Responsibility, ERGs, Strategy, and operations to drive AB’s DEI impact in our culture and in our communities

  • Partner with HR to ensure DEI competencies for DEI activation are built across AB

  • Leads effort to develop a measurement for DEI activation, cascades results and recommendations, and communicates DEI activation strategy for the expertise

  • Build commercial competency around DEI activation strategy that elevates transparency of our progress

  • Reviewing all AB culture activities related to DEI to capture optimal opportunity for progress in partnership with ERGs, ESG commitments, and the AB Foundation

What your background should look like

Skills & Experience

  • Requires Bachelors' Degree in related field

  • Requires ten (10) years of global leadership experience in fields such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, human resource business partner, corporate development training, corporate culture learning, marketing, communications, business administration, legal or similar vocations

  • Requires five (5) years global leadership experience with activating DEI culture initiatives

  • Strategic thinking with a strong understanding of global healthcare services and established industry relationships

  • Exceptional ability to influence and serve as a change agent while designing strategy & delivering results

  • A skilled communicator and relationship-builder capable of facilitating courageous conversations and working across lines of differences.

  • History of embedding culture initiatives, priorities & strategy into commercial business units
