What you will be doing

Under moderate supervision of the Inside Sales Supervisor, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for placing proactive outbound calls to established customers and potential prospects. Inside Sales Representatives develop, maintain, and implement long-term business partnerships with their assigned customers in the independent, retail, chain, institutional or alternate care business segments within an assigned territory or by customer type. This includes collaboration with other sales teams to follow up on customers or prospects who have shown an interest in doing business with the Company, directing service issues to the proper channels, and understanding the customers specialty areas to provide value. The inside sales team will sell targeted promotions in order to expand and retain existing business resulting in increased profitable revenues. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated hunter driven to win new business and grow existing customers revenue.

  • Initiate proactive calls to established customers to grow sales revenue, develop customer loyalty, increase generic sales and foster utilization of the company programs and service.

  • Conduct pre-call research and planning to set goals for the call and to anticipate customer needs and industry trends.

  • Initiate and conduct proactive calls designed to recruit customers who have shown an interest in doing business with the Company.

  • Analyze dashboard reporting to identify customer trends in order to either take advantage of the trend or minimize the impact of the trend.

  • Access inventory systems to assist customer with availability information

  • Achieve individual monthly sales goals as set by sales management.

  • Meet performance standards including call productivity, new business development, sales growth and collection of competitive data.

  • Proactively identify customer and product opportunities as in the best interest of the Company.

  • Maintains generics program within assigned territory by informing customers and prospects about available products, services, prices and new launches. Participation in department meetings, trainings and role-play business scenarios.

  • Enter and maintain integrity of data in company’s’ CRM software programs.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

Requires 2-5 years progressively responsible pharma sales experience in commission-based environment; pharma sales OR sales plus pharmacy tech experience required. Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a two year associate's degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hunter mentality with the drive to continually seek out business.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and associates

  • Excellent oral communication skills to present information and solutions in a professional manner Good analytical skills sufficient to prepare quotes, analyze data, and to identify and resolve customer problems

  • Good mathematical skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills to proficiently use a windows based system and to accurately input data and run reports

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
