What you will be doing

Environmental Health and Safety

  • Monitors the maintenance of a safe, accident free, and healthy working environment.

  • Monitors SDS compliance across the facility.

  • Provides oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, hazardous waste, wastewater, and storm water permits, plans, regulations, etc.

  • Coordinates the reporting and record keeping activities for facilities permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements.

  • Provides oversight and guidance for permitting and implementation of environmental regulations on various new or developing projects.

  • Interfaces with Environmental Regulatory Agencies, Corporate environmental health and safety leadership & lead inspections and audits.

  • Maintains and updates Hazardous Waste Management program.

  • Develops and conducts periodic Environmental audits and assessments, document findings and assisting plant leadership in resolving discrepancies.

  • Evaluates risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss can be improved.

  • Leads Hazard Communication Compliance for the facility. Assure current chemical plant inventory is comprehensive, responsible for maintenance of the online SDS database accessed by all associates.

  • Manages the maintenance and implementation of environmental and safety programs.

  • Creates/updates procedures and forms in support of environmental and safety programs.

  • Maintains internal reporting and data gathering for programs relating but not limited to RCRA, air emissions, storm water and safety; also assists with the reporting of such data to both the necessary regulatory bodies and to the global EHS department.

  • Conducts routine inspections and annual internal audits of company EHS systems.

  • Assists in the reporting of any EHS related incidents and near misses.

  • Assists with any EHS related audits.

  • Maintains accurate records and documentation.

  • Responsible for Accident Tracking / Safety Overview Metrics (Daily and Monthly reporting)

  • Maintains documentation on Contractor Safety Training

  • Organizes Fire Extinguisher checks/ documentation maintenance.

  • Leads Safety Minded Culture Program, Reporting and Meetings

  • Acts as AHP’s Quarterly Safety & Advisory Committee Meetings facilitator.

  • Completes OSHA 300 and 301(A) logs.

  • Facilitates vendor management for first aid kits, eye wash stations, and AEDs.

Security

  • Manages relationship with alarm and camera system vendor including tracking work orders for issues, planned maintenance, and projects.

  • Monitors, responds, and acts as the primary point of contact for alarm conditions during and outside of normal business hours.

  • Manages access control of the team members.

  • Produces monthly security reports.

  • Leads incident reporting by handling initial notification, investigation, and documentation for any security incidents.

  • Leads quarterly alarm system testing.

  • Manages locker control program.

  • Facilitates alarm system testing.

  • Leads weekly and monthly facilities inspections.

  • Works closely with corporate security and regulatory teams to implement programs to ensure regulatory compliance.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS and security preferred.

  • Previous experience within an active production facility preferred.

  • Team oriented and self-motivated. Ability to meet commitments as required.

  • Judgment. Ability to make risk-based decisions in support of the cGMPs. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; makes timely decisions and actions.

  • Quality Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, expert regarding current pharmaceutical federal regulations and industry standards.
