What you will be doing

Are you a talented and driven college student seeking an internship with a global Fortune 11 healthcare company? At Cencora, we are looking for individuals with an inclusive mindset and a passion for making a difference in human and animal health.

Our 10-week paid internship program has been developed to provide students with hands-on experience to learn more about the Healthcare industry and the impact to human and animal health. This internship program will provide you with professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities. You will learn about the Guiding Principles of our culture but most importantly, have the opportunity to become a key contributor in the future talent pipeline of Cencora.

Start Date: June 3, 2024

End Date: August 9. 2024

Location: Hybrid based out of our Conshohocken, PA HQ with a two day in-office expectation each week.

As a Procurement Transformation Intern at Cencora, you will have the opportunity to assist in driving process improvements and implementing best practices within our procurement function. You will work closely with the Procurement team to support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier management, indirect sourcing, contract negotiation, and overall procurement effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Procurement Transformation project that is an end-to-end global procurement platform that includes People, Processes and Systems (P2P).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

  • Utilize effective time management skills and workflow prioritization to meet deadlines and produce high quality work.

  • Provide analytical support to internal team to assist in project deliverables.

  • Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement.

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to optimize supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management.

  • Support the analysis of spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for system enhancements or process automation.

  • Assist in conducting supplier assessments and evaluations.

  • Help create training materials or resources related to procurement transformation initiatives.

  • Support the implementation of new systems or tools that enhance procurement efficiency.

  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement transformation projects.

What your background should look like

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time junior or senior in an undergraduate program at a four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Demonstrated interest in procurement or supply chain management.
