What you will be doing

Under general direction of the Vice President – Global Digital Commerce & Marketplace Lead, is responsible for managing, supporting and executing activities related to the development and management of Cencora Marketplace business. The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, optimize business processes, and develop strategies to build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic accounts.

  • Owns the sales strategy and execution for the Cencora Marketplace program in a self-directed and initiated manner.

  • Leads the development and execution of strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase productivity and revenue, and enhance overall business performance. Responsible for the selection, training, and performance management for sales team members. Responsible for daily performance accountability of sales team while reinforcing a team-oriented, customer-focused approach.

  • Oversees the overall performance of the Marketplace Sales Team to ensure compliance with policies, practices and approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure against established goals. Regularly reviews performance metrics with leadership and team to identify trends, address issues, and drive improvements.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders across divisions including Category Management, Sales, Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure alignment with business objectives and that the best interests of Cencora are met.

  • Continuously evaluates and analyzes data to identify trends, opportunities, and to drive decision-making.

  • Represents and positions Cencora favorably with external stakeholders and acts as a liaison between strategic customers and Cencora’s supplier partners to foster and grow strategic relationships.

  • Provides excellent customer service by supplying accurate information and timely resolution to customers for strategic and promotional orders returns, credits, pricing and inventory related issues.

  • Provides expertise and advisory services to educate broader cross-functional teams on customers needs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, pricing, sales, marketing, operations, analytics, strategy, finance or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Requires minimum of 7 years directly related and progressively responsible experience, including at least four (4) years’ experience in sales experience at a manager level.

  • Ability to build positive relationships and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment;

  • Skilled at implementing change efforts toward simplification, standardization and adherence to governance frameworks;

  • Ability to influence and manage change;

  • Sound expertise in financial / mathematical / statistical modeling and analysis;

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral;

  • Ability to manage customer, supplier and internal Cencora discussions around consumer products strategy;

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Very strong organizational and time management skills;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace;

  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills (creates engagement);

  • Strong talent manager and people / team developer;

  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently;

  • Excellent presentation skills;

  • Fluency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Project, Excel, Access and PowerPoint);

  • Strong understanding of Cencora’s applications and systems (SAP, EAP, BOBJ, SQL and others)
