#LI-DNI Design, build, test, implement, maintain and optimize Linux infrastructure and operations in accordance with established security policies and guidelines. Monitor and optimize the performance of Linux operating systems (OS), which includes installing, upgrading and monitoring packages via RPM and YUM package management. Perform Kickstart Installation in Linux and Jumpstart installation in Solaris. Identify, reproduce, and document solutions found after resolving issues within our environment related to Linux OS. Ensure that quality assurance practices, such as configuring, patching and documenting, are carried out accurately. Design, develop, build and test solutions to meet business requirements and document and complete knowledge transfers for production support. Monitor server utilities like CPU, Memory, Swap Memory, File system. Configure backup interface on Linux servers, snapshot for backup and support daily backup which are involved in AVAMAR. Support a large infrastructure of approximately 7,000 Linux and Windows servers. Participate in monthly server maintenance activities, processes, procedures and updates. Recommend and implement resolutions for issues. Work with auditors and security groups to ensure adherence to governance, regulations, and compliance management. Participate in short- and long-term planning efforts with stakeholders in Information Technology groups. Provide any other support as needed to maintain a high level of operational performance and availability to Linux systems and environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering (any), or a related field and two years of experience in any occupation where the following may be gained: Building, deploying, configuring and providing ongoing support to Linux operation systems using Redhat Enterprise Operating Systems versions 5, 6, 7 and 8 and also Suse versions 11.x., 12.x. 15.x.; Performing tasks within an enterprise ticketing system – incidents, requests, change control; Utilizing Active Directory concepts; patching software using Puppet (automation tool), including maintaining and applying security and other patches to the operating system; utilizing BASH scripting skills (programming automation tasks); In Networking concepts and SAN concepts (storage area network); monitoring VMware, backup and recovery, adding or removing resources in VMware, and utilizing VMware console access; and In Linux Security concepts and Linux Performance tuning concepts. Experience can be gained pre or post bachelor's degree.
