Reporting to the SVP, Global Indirect Sourcing, the Senior Director of Indirect Procurement Center of Excellence and Procurement Operations holds a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Procurement Center of Excellence (COE). This position is not just about overseeing processes; it's about driving excellence, optimizing efficiency, and establishing a preferred supplier governance strategy that sets the standard. Leading a team dedicated to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact on procurement performance and initiatives. As the primary liaison for senior leadership on Indirect Procurement matters, you'll have the opportunity to provide valuable insights and drive supplier governance programs that mitigate risks and maximize returns. Additionally, as the procurement liaison between Cencora and Indirect group purchasing organizations, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations and strategic partnerships.

  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the Procurement COE, aligning with organizational objectives and priorities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the COE team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes and systems
  • Lead the development and deployment of procurement systems, including Ariba and potential future platforms, ensuring optimal utilization and performance
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks and SOPs to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency in procurement operations
  • Create a preferred supplier governance program in liaison with matrix stakeholders to define and mitigate risk with third parties, to monitor and track supplier performance to contract and to establish criteria for preferred suppliers that facilitate both return on investment, but innovation related to services/goods provided
  • Establish best practices tools for establishing Supplier Governance program inclusive of segmentation criteria, annual third-party check-in tasks, service level templates, roll-out of Quarterly Business Review framework and applicable performance documents at the supplier/category level.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and implement best practices in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations
  • Supports development of the five-year strategy and long-range plan including achievement of goals
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on procurement matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed
  • Oversee reporting and analytics functions within the COE, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of procurement-related insights and metrics
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and sustainability, and driving strategic initiatives to maintain competitiveness
  • Oversee the procurement help desk, ensuring prompt resolution of internal stakeholder inquiries and issues to support effective and efficient procurement operations
  • Direct ownership for management of, and value pull through (internally and cross functionally), for all opportunities created by any group purchasing organization in which Cencora is a member

Requirements:

Requires broad training in fields such as supply chain management, business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelors degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible managerial experience in indirect sourcing, finance, and/or B2B experience; MBA preferred.

  • Strong understanding of indirect procurement metrics, trends, and methodologies
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with vendor partners, internal customers, associates and senior management
  • Outstanding collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to drive cross functional input on key decisions and influence stakeholders to make decisions that maximize organization versus departmental benefits
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes and technology
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions and prioritization
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience in managing contract development and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement processes that achieve business objectives, operational efficiency, and internal control effectiveness
  • Outstanding leadership and execution skills; proven history of delivering quality results
  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required
