The Impact You’ll Make

  • The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the operations, administration, and maintenance of the network and network security infrastructure, including - wireless LAN, LAN, data center LAN, DNS/DHCP, SD-WAN, site-to-site VPNs, remote connectivity, firewalls, network segmentation, DMZ networks, internet gateways, and cloud networks including GCP and AWS
  • Daily activities also include monitoring and managing the network performance, availability, and capacity while ensuring the security posture of critical infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. You will be expected to troubleshoot incidents, fulfill user requests, and lead troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • The Senior Network Administrator will work closely with our Engineers to ensure the design of any solutions meet the functional and non-functional requirements, and will lead the operationalization of the solution, ensuring solutions and technologies can be operated in-line with service level objectives.
  • Maintain documentation and runbooks for network infrastructure and configuration changes.
  • Provide on-call services and respond appropriately to critical network issues.
  • The senior Network Administrator will share their expertise, knowledge, and experience to help team members enhance their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall understanding of network administration.

This position is based at our headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. This contractor position is 40 hours per week.

The Team You’ll Join

You will join the IT team at Recursion. A group of IT Specialists, Systems Admins/engineers focused on helping Recursion to move fast while still being secure. You will work with teammates across the Recursion departments, determining the right path forward and how we get there. Must demonstrate the ability to manage and maintain Networking, Server, and Storage infrastructure.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a network administrator role with strong administration, implementation, and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer-facing, Campus-level support as well as distributed Enterprise-level infrastructure support
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware setup, configuration, connectivity, and troubleshooting
  • CCNP or higher certification
  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP network routing protocols and infrastructure
  • Experience in Dynamic Routing Protocols, including BGP
  • Experience with wired, wireless, and data center LAN solutions
  • Strong experience in network security, including Firewall Administration and Network Segmentation.
  • Expertise in DMZ Networks, Internet Gateways, and Site-to-site VPNs.
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining DNS/DHCP services
  • Experience with Ansible and Python scripting languages
  • System administration (Windows, Linux) experience is required
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines
