Recursion Pharmaceuticals
Your work will change lives. Including your own.
The Impact You’ll Make
As the Senior Network Engineer, you will be pivotal in executing network projects that support Recursion’s global network infrastructure. Your focus will be on implementing, and optimizing network solutions to meet evolving business needs. You will take ownership of network-related projects, including new deployments, upgrades, and expansions, ensuring that all project deliverables align with organizational goals. You will also be responsible for managing and troubleshooting complex issues within the existing infrastructure, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and network service integration. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability, reliability, and security of Recursion’s network infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Network Design: Provide design input on network projects, focusing on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. This includes wireless LAN, campus LAN, VPNs, and cloud environments (GCP, AWS). Ensure that network architecture is aligned with project goals, business requirements, and security standards while supporting future growth and innovation across on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Network Project Support: Drive project-related network support by interconnecting, operating, and maintaining network infrastructure; support during changes, deployments, and upgrades. This includes wireless LAN, campus LAN, DNS/DHCP, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, network segmentation, and cloud networks (GCP, AWS). You will lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues as part of project execution and ensure smooth network transitions during upgrades and implementations.
- Network Assurance: Ensure network performance, security, and capacity are met during the execution of network projects. Oversee the availability of critical network services and infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments, managing performance as part of broader project delivery.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with IT Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure new network projects meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Take the lead in transitioning network designs into operational environments, ensuring solutions can be managed in-line with service level objectives post-project completion.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network project designs, deployments, and configuration changes. Develop runbooks to support post-project network operation and troubleshooting.
- Incident Management: Lead incident management efforts related to project deployments and upgrades, ensuring a swift and appropriate response to critical network issues that may arise during or after project implementation.
- Knowledge Share: Contribute to team development by sharing technical expertise and project-based knowledge, helping team members enhance their understanding of network design, troubleshooting, and administration.
