Red Rock is seeking to hire a research technician to work in our laboratory full time.

The research technician will conduct various experiments where they will process bovine and human tissue and perform various biochemical (ELISAs, enzyme and protein) and cell based assays.

They will report to the Chief Scientific Officer and will work closely with the other members of the product development team.

Location: Downtown Toronto.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Duties & Responsibilities

The research technician will be responsible for:

1. processing bone tissue matrices

2. performing protein assays, enzymatic assays and ELISAs

3. performing cell culture assays

4. collecting data, performing simple analyses and drafting study reports

5. operating and maintaining various pieces of lab equipment

6. maintaining inventories of materials and samples

Critical Competencies Required

Knowledge:

Knowledge of biochemical methods and assays (required)

Knowledge of cell culture (required)

Knowledge of data analysis and basic statistics (preferred)

Knowledge of protein analytical methods (preferred)

Skills:

Experience performing protein assays (Bradford, BCA etc.) (required)

Experience performing Cell Culture (mammalian cells) (preferred)

Experience working in a research Laboratory (summer student or graduate student).

Qualifications

BSc in biochemistry or related discipline
