REGION BUSINESS DIRECTOR
The Role:
We are searching for a team of Region Business Directors (RBDs) who will serve as critical members of the Customer Engagement Leadership Team and have an exciting opportunity to build an inaugural sales team in preparation for our first product launch. The Region Business Directors will hire, develop, and coach a team of therapeutic sales specialists while partnering closely with members of the Systems of Care team, to embed the organization within some of the most influential healthcare systems across the United States. As an RBD, you will be responsible for building and leading a field team at the region level that advances the business through strategic engagement with internal and external stakeholders. RBDs will report to the Vice President of Customer Engagement, Commercial Learning & Development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example as a culture champion by consistently displaying behaviors that are representative of our six core values
- Provide input on requirements for sales force systems, data, training programs, performance metrics, and selling resource decisions
- Develop a regional business plan and budget for a team that supports the short- and long-term objectives of the broader organization
- Hire, coach, and develop one of our inaugural region sales teams prior to FDA approval of innovative medicines intended to help cancer patients live longer and better than ever before
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders inside and outside the commercial organization to ensure strategic alignment and execution of key strategies/tactics to advance overall business objectives
- Embrace a partnership with Commercial Operations & Analytics to leverage data that informs region field force activity and drives team performance (AI/ML, Next Best Action, etc.)
- Develop and foster an environment where the overall patient, caregiver, and HCP customer experience are prioritized
- Lead region sales force activities including training, development, and performance evaluations
- Prioritize field activities with strategic initiatives to drive maximum results
- Accountable for deployment of target approved promotional peer-to-peer programs
- Meet or exceed national performance goals
- Set clear expectations and evaluate compliance with Regulatory Standards and Promotional Policies for all members of the field team
- Build and sustain relationships with key HCPs and target stakeholders within target accounts
- Systematically communicate market intelligence to brand team(s), Commercial Learning & Development, and senior management
- Ensure frequent communication with the direct manager and appropriate colleagues about plan progress for each territory, along with specific support needed
- Provide proactive performance management through consistent coaching and creating an environment where feedback is both anticipated and valued
- Lead region team in execution of sales and marketing strategies to achieve assigned sales goals
- Establish strong relationships with KOLs and key external stakeholders (HCPs, payers, professional organizations, academia, etc.) to deliver a positive customer and patient experience
- Observe and engage in compliant customer interactions with members of the Systems of Care and Medical teams in the field to drive objectives forward
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- BS/BA or healthcare equivalent degree is required
- Minimum 10 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, and/or medical experience with a strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace and deep understanding of industry and broader trends in the healthcare landscape
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience successfully leading specialty and/or rare disease (Hematology/Oncology preferred) representatives required
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute an operating plan and budget at the region-level
- Proven track record coaching, developing, and promoting direct reports, while consistently delivering exceptional sales results
- Collaborative leader and organizationally savvy team player with a history of successfully building, leading, influencing, and motivating high performance teams to achieve results
- Strong negotiation, partnering, and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to effectively manage business relationships with internal and external strategic partners
- Successful product launch experience as a people leader required (Hematology/Oncology preferred)
- Prior pharma/biotech start-up experience preferred
- Technologically savvy and committed to leveraging data and advanced analytics daily to drive business results
- Ability to travel on a frequent overnight basis, with occasional weekend travel, depending on business needs
Travel Requirements
- Field-based remote role requiring routine overnight travel estimated to be 60%; Occasional weekend work for congresses / key meetings.
- Valid driver’s license
