Director, Human REsourceS

Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations

PURPOSE:


The Director of Human Resources will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with the entire senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will be agile and possess the competence and passion to operate at a highly strategic level, being able to balance tactical execution. This individual will be a key partner in supporting department leads through strategy, execution, recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration. To be most successful, the incumbent will have life science industry experience, supporting companies positioned for growth.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate a framework to ensure the appropriate evolution of Cuervo Vaccine’s organizational structure and transformation.
  • Translate overall business goals into strategic and operational plans.
  • Consult with central stakeholders to identify and diagnose organizational obstacles and design and implement novel and sustainable solutions.
  • Lead and champion organizational changes, and coach executive leaders through transformations.
  • Oversee compliance of local, state, federal, and EU-changing laws and regulations, around employment requirements.
  • Implement HR metrics and analytics to measure the department’s effectiveness.
  • Maintain and build HR policies, procedures, and systems.

EDUCATION:

  • BS degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or a similar discipline is required. MS preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of HR experience in roles of increasing responsibility and scope.
  • Experience leading a Life Science or other highly regulated organization through substantial growth.
  • A proven history of successfully managing employee relations, navigating, and leading the HR function through organizational change.
  • Expert-level experience with all HR functional areas including Organizational Development, Employee and Labor Relations, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Learning and Development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent overall communication, organizational skills, and business acumen.
  • Extensive knowledge of state, federal, and EU legal regulations related to employment.
  • The gravitas to advise and collaborate with company executives.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to provide planning, coordination, and direction to staff and the ability to propose innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Outcome driven; can thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapid change while effectively managing pressure in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other electronic systems.
  • Flexibility in work hours as needed to accommodate international collaborators or significant meetings/events. Flexibility for some remote and in-person combination on a weekly basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Performing the responsibilities of the job requires the ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to read and type while sitting in front of a computer for up to 4 hours at a time. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. May occasionally have to lift, tug, and pull up to 25 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Curevo offers its employees a generous range of compensation and benefits.

The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $192,000 annually. The salary range may vary based on Curevo’s compensation practices and an applicant’s qualifications and experience.
