Description:

The Department of Medicine and the Division of Emergency Medicine at University of Toronto are seeking to recruit qualified academic emergency medicine physicians to a variety of academic position descriptions, including Clinician Teachers, Clinician Educators, Clinicians in Quality & Innovation, Clinician Scientists and Clinician Investigators to a maximum of 8 full-time positions. Successful candidates would be hired through one of 3 fully-affiliated Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network hospitals: Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Unity Health Toronto or University Health Network. Successful candidates must be eligible for a Full-Time Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The effective start date of the appointment is July 1, 2024, or a mutually agreeable date.

These individuals will provide exemplary patient-centered care and will be expected to participate in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs of the University of Toronto as appropriate.

Successful candidates will be committed to a career in emergency medicine. Their academic interests will be demonstrated by specialization in education, quality improvement, or research, and accomplishments in quality, research, or educational scholarship. Academic excellence may be demonstrated by teaching and/or research nominations and awards, secured research grants, publications in leading journals, presentations at significant conferences, and creative professional activity with evident impact and renown.

Successful candidates must hold an MD degree, be eligible for certification in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine, and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario. Applications will be accepted until October 10, 2023, or until the positions are filled.
