About us:
The Office of the Vice-Provost, Academic Programs (VPAP) supports the activity of the University of Toronto in academic policy; for-credit academic programming; academic change, including production of the graduate calendar; initiatives relating to academic programming; and the cyclical review of academic programs and units.
Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Academic Programs, Planning and Quality Assurance, the Assistant provides a range of administrative support to the Office of the Vice-Provost, Academic Programs. Additionally, the Assistant records, edits, and implements all revisions to the academic calendar on behalf of the School of Graduate Studies, including functions associated with the governance approval processes as they intersect with the calendar, liaising with academic units and stakeholders to support academic calendar production initiatives, and ensuring accuracy of content.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
- Determining actionable items based on the review of applicable information
- Verifying the accuracy and completeness of information
- Analyzing content and layout strategies and recommending changes for improvement
- Analyzing and recommending changes to academic calendar content
- Liaising with academic units and stakeholders to support academic calendar production initiatives
- Maintaining information on a website
- Verifying that links to all related websites are up-to-date
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of experience in post-secondary academic services environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with project coordination.
- Experience and proficiency in using academic calendar management software such as Kuali Curriculum Manger and Curriculum Publisher
- Experience in text formatting skills in both InDesign and advanced Microsoft Word.
- Experience accessing information via databases and internet and HTML coding.
- Website editing skills (proficient with multiple content management systems)
- Knowledge of academic programming, academic policies and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills, and thorough attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing and editorial skills

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
