Your opportunity:

The Rotman Office of Recruitment, Admissions and Business Development (RABD) recruits and admits talented professionals who aim to push their limits, expand their creativity and develop their leadership potential via one of the School’s nine graduate management programs. The RABD team will achieve this goal using industry-standard best practices in strategic enrolment management.

As an Event Coordinator, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic and collaborative team committed to delivering an exceptional experience for prospective candidates of Rotman’s graduate programs. A critical member of the RABD team, this role will conceptualize, organize and execute a wide range of recruitment events to attract both domestic and international students to Rotman’s suite ofnine graduate business programs. You will support event management, including, but not limited to, determining logistical requirements such as space, on-site supervision and event direction, and managing and making recommendations for technology for hybrid events using various online tools such as Zoom and MS Teams.

The Event Coordinator will work with colleagues across the RABD portfolio and the Rotman School to achieve the School’s recruitment goals, and be a key contributor to a dynamic and SEM-driven recruitment and admissions operation dedicated to shaping the incoming classes of transformational graduate business programs at the University of Toronto.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for event-related enquiries
  • Overseeing space and resource requirements for events and related programming
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance.
  • Overseeing the implementation of event plans and activities.
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of relevant and recent experience organizing events in a higher education setting.
  • Graduate student recruitment experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting post-event analyses and surveys
  • Experience with livestreaming and virtual event technologies (such as Zoom, YouTube or similar) and CRM / marketing systems (such as Salesforce, Marketing Cloud) are an asset
  • Experience in managing multiple and concurrent deadlines and initiatives
  • Proven ability to demonstrate sound judgment and tact under pressure
  • Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills; well-developed interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Demonstrated experience applying fundamental concepts of strategic enrolment management in a student recruitment setting highly desirable
