Your opportunity:
At the Department of Management, we pride ourselves on educating and preparing students for leadership positions in the world of business. With our wide range of specializations and course offerings, we give students the opportunity to acquire critical skills and the expertise required for successful careers. Our students learn best practices and explore current issues, all within an environment of collegiality and professionalism. This role will work to support the successful academic progression of students through the program by advising on activities such as, but not limited to, admissions, degree and program requirements and pathways to related designations. The role also plays a pivotal part in program planning, course oversight, policy advising and timetable creation for the year, participating in recruitment activities, acting as a point person for academic integrity and liaising with the Registrar’s Office and a host of other campus partners as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background.
  • Reviewing and assessing petitions for special consideration.
  • Analyzing and making recommendations on award funding allocation.
  • Providing detailed information on programs, eligibility requirements, procedures and deadlines.
  • Analyzing course enrolment and waitlisted numbers to identify need for additional lecture sections.
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material.
  • Keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements.
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of related experience.
  • Experience overseeing or supporting course outline collection and the review process.
  • Experience overseeing exam collection and the review process.
  • Experience or familiarity with the academic integrity and petitions process.
  • Experience overseeing and managing student recruitment and orientation events planning.
  • Experience in scheduling and timetabling.
  • Experience with generating reports.
  • Familiarity with academic processes and procedures.
  • Experience organizing data for various reports.
  • Experience and knowledge of ROSI and Sharepoint.
  • Understanding of the academic cycle from the viewpoint of students, faculty and administrators.
