Your opportunity:

This position offers the rewarding opportunity to lend your marketing and outreach aptitude and experience to further the mission of enrollment and program growth within the Department of Philosophy at the University of Mississauga.

Reporting to the Department Manager, taking primary direction from the Department Chair, and working closely with the other department staff, you will be responsible for marketing and outreach initiatives including but not limited to:
the production and dissemination of marketing/communication materials; coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders; developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials; drafting written materials for presentations; visiting high schools and doing presentations oriented toward student recruitment to the Philosophy Program.

Collaborates with various stakeholders to support outreach, engagement and events for the Ethics Bowl at UTM.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for marketing/brand enquiries
  • Determining the logistics required for the drafting, production and dissemination of marketing/communication materials
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Coordinating marketing project activities with creative professionals and vendors
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Editing content for style and tone
  • Consulting with clients regarding the development of marketing and/or communication materials

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four years' experience in outreach, marketing, communications and/or events
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with social media platforms
  • Experience with giving marketing presentations and coordinating outreach initiatives
  • Experience with website content management and developing marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Experience with social media analytics and interpretation
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders to execute successful outreach, marketing strategies and events
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
