Course Description: Using key feminist texts, this course advances students thinking, reading and writing in the discipline of Women and Gender Studies. The emphasis is placed on the development and application of interdisciplinary skills in the interpretation, analysis, criticism, and advocacy of ideas encountered in Women and Gender Studies. (24L/12T)

Class Schedule: Tuesdays, 9-11

Hours of Work: Tuesdays, 11-4

Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025

Salary: $52.26 per hour

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications: Applicants will have a Masters or Ph.D. in Gender, Feminist and/or Sexuality Studies or a closely related discipline. A Ph.D. degree in Gender, Feminist or Sexuality Studies is preferred. Previous experience in a similar course is desirable.

Description of Duties: Duties may include the teaching of small tutorial sections, marking of assignments, holding scheduled office hours and invigilation of exams; other duties as determined by the supervisor.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
