Information & Instructional Technology Services (IITS) provides the technological vision and leadership for the development and implementation of information systems, processes, and associated technology to support the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus' academic mission and administrative operation. Your opportunity:
As Classroom Recording Multimedia Technician, you will be responsiblefor remotely monitoring the video and audio signals for UTSC’s automated classroom recording system. You will troubleshoot issues remotely and in person, in the classrooms where recordings are underway. You will triage, diagnose, and fix technical issues and help the instructor use the system correctly.
This will require familiarity with our many classrooms, fluency with our classroom AV systems, and a high level of professionalism. Your ability to resolve issues quickly either remotelyor in the classroom will have a direct bearing on the quality and success of our many recordings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting-up and maintaining audio/visual systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Liaising with vendors to coordinate services and resolve issues
- Maintaining audio-visual inventory
- Editing post-production audio and/or visual material
- Listening actively to clients with concerns
- Following-up with end-users on outstanding technical issues
- Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of demonstrated experience working in educational multimedia
- Demonstrated experience with video editing software
- Advanced skill level using Kaltura, PTZ Cameras, video editing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex software application issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and ability to offer creative solutions in problem solving
- Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced environment characterized by changing priorities
