The Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI) is a multi-disciplinary research and teaching hub located at the heart of the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). IMI prepares the next generation of leaders, contributes to communities, and solves problems through the discovery, application and communication of knowledge in management, social sciences and sciences.

IMIx Executive programs (IMIx) is the unit of IMI that offers non-degree, certificate programs designed for executives and managers to advance their career ambitions efficiently and effectively. IMIx aims to empower working professionals with tools, frameworks, and new ways of thinking through flexible, immersive and collaborative programs. These flexible learning opportunities are offered as open enrolment programs as well as customized learning solutions for organizations and industries.

Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Operations & Finance, and working with the IMIx Program and Business Development Manager and the Academic Program Director, the IMIx Marketing and Operations Coordinator will be working as part of the IMIx Executive Programs team. The qualified candidate will have a keen interest in the marketing and delivery of non-degree programs to organizations, business and the UTM community as well as supporting the programs' faculty and speakers. The IMIx Marketing and Operations Coordinator will also provide support to other IMI program initiatives and activities, as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Implementing a digital media plan that supports marketing/communications strategy
  • Running programs by implementing methods of practice and related processes to support their delivery
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Recording expenses on a single account
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years experience, preferably in continuing education, higher education, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in marketing, developing marketing strategies, and promotional materials.
  • Experience in market research and analysis, identification of key target markets as well as direct sales and relationship development.
  • Experience using social and digital media for marketing and outreach.
  • Experience consulting with instructors, administrators on the development of programming needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills to cope with multiple programs and events occurring within short and overlapping time periods.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office (Microsoft, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams/Zoom). Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva and other related systems), Drupal and/or similar content management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
  • Flexibility for occasional availability on weekends to support Department events.
