About us:

The Vice-President & Provost System’s team provides technology guidance and systems support to the Division of the Vice-President and Provost. The VPP System’s team is responsible for providing leadership, direction, planning, reporting, and strategic management to the Divisions’ community in the areas of information systems and support, project management, web/media, documentation and training.

Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Information Systems and under the general guidance of the Lead Developer and Systems Architect, the incumbent will be responsible for working collaboratively within a team to develop and deliver business solutions for the Division. You will be responsible for understanding client requirements, analyzing existing systems, and developing technical solutions for system improvements leveraging a mixture of cloud, off the shelf, and custom applications to meet client needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing and making recommendations for programming enhancements
  • Evaluating programming code to ensure it has validity, compatibility, and that it meets appropriate standards
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides
  • Collaborating on cost estimates

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years.
  • Microsoft Azure Foundations Certification
  • Experience in developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining backend RESTful services using.NET Core 8.0
  • Proficient developing front-end UI using TypeScript, Angular (18 or above), and Material (18 or above)
  • Experience developing plugins and blocks for WordPress using PHP and CSS
  • Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and active listening skills, with strong commitment to provide high quality service and professionalism.
  • Strong collaborator in a team-oriented environment.


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Knowledge of the Division of the Vice-President and Provost
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Platform including SharePoint, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse), and Azure
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Visual Studio
  • Understanding of University data systems such as ROSI
