Your opportunity:
The Rehabilitation Sciences Sector (RSS) in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is a world leader in the delivery of rehabilitation sciences health professional programs and research. The RSS is compromised of four essential departments: Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OSOT), Department of Physical Therapy (PT), Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI), and the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
As Admissions & Student Services Coordinator, you will play an integral role in recruiting and supporting our future generation of health professionals in becoming leaders in research, clinical practice and the promotion of health and well-being. You will promote and deliver tailored events to recruit the best and brightest applicants, and you will be supporting all aspects of our admissions process. Your demonstrated ability to foster and maintain networks across and outside of the University will be critical in engaging our community to foster an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Advising potential applicants on admissions criteria, and advising students on program/course requirements and on financial aid matters, bursaries, budgeting and personal financial management
• Reviewing and assessing admissions applications, calculating student grades and preparing reports for decision-making
• Providing detailed information regarding financial aid maters and collecting and passing on submissions for award competition
• Conceptualizing, organizing and executing events
• Promoting programs and delivering presentations at student recruitment events
Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
• Minimum (3) three years’ of related experience in a student admissions and/or recruitment environment within a large post-secondary institution
• Strong understanding of principles of equity; experience working with underrepresented groups and supporting inclusion initiatives
• Demonstrated experience advising and providing guidance to prospective applicants, students and parents on admission requirements, program requirements and financial aid matters
• Experience promoting programming and delivering recruitment presentations and workshops to diverse audiences
• Experience tracking and monitoring distribution of awards and financial aid
• Experience supporting the development of promotional and outreach materials to support student recruitment initiatives
• Demonstrated experience conceptualizing, organizing, and executing recruitment events, including conducting post-event evaluation and analysis
• Experience fostering an inclusive community and applicant experience
• Advanced technical skills in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, Zoom, learning management systems, student information systems and content management systems
• Knowledge of recruitment practices and familiarity with recruitment technologies
• Solid customer service and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse population
• Superior public speaking and interpersonal skills
• Proven relationship management, teamwork, and organization skills
• Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, and tact and maintain a strict standard of confidentiality
• Experience working with equity, diversity and inclusion organizations and/or agencies
• Ability to keeping well-informed on theories related to equity, diversity and inclusion
