Description:

The Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, in affiliation with Sinai Health, the University Health Network and Women's College Hospital, is recruiting a Musculoskeletal (MSK) radiologist. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025 .

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) operates across the University Health Network Hospitals (Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute), Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital. The MSK division’s clinical services span a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures in orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, rheumatology, emergency medicine, sports medicine, physical medicine, and rehabilitation among others.

JDMI operates 15 CT and 12 MRI scanners (including dedicated research scanners), 12 X-ray and 40 ultrasound units, two PET-CT scanners, and one PET MRI scanner. MSK radiologists interpret about 115,000 radiographs, 13,000 MSK MRs, 6,000 MSK CTs, and perform approximately 1000 interventional procedures per annum. The successful candidate will join a team of 7 staff MSK radiologists and 5 clinical fellows in the MSK Imaging Division, and will work in all major modalities, including Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT and MRI. The ideal candidate is an established radiologist with an interest in research and teaching with a national profile. Their academic position description will be assigned based on candidate’s teaching or research strengths.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to divisional strategy and take on leadership roles within the division and department.

The successful applicant must hold an MD or equivalent degree as well as board certification in diagnostic radiology from the RCPSC, ABR, or international organization that recognizes medical specialists. The successful applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. They must be a fellowship-trained MSK radiologist. We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated track record in research and teaching, with opportunities to mentor fellows and residents in a highly collaborative academic environment.

Compensation will be in accordance with the uniform average salary of a Radiologist (in the range of $300,000 - $450,000) in the Province of Ontario, and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
